Each year, our classes mark this mathematical holiday by working cooperatively through Pi-themed math booklets and, of course, enjoying some delicious pie together.
This year, our Advanced Foods Class took things to the next level. Earlier in the month they surveyed the entire school to find out which flavours everyone wanted, and then they baked the pies themselves! The menu included banana cream, pumpkin, cherry, strawberry rhubarb, and more, and they were absolutely delicious. Huge thanks to the students who planned, baked, and made it all happen.
And then came the moment everyone waits for… the Annual Pie-ing!

Students competed to see who could recite or write down the most digits of π. The winners earned the honour of pie-ing their chosen volunteers. This year some of our high school students bravely stepped up alongside staff to take a pie to the face, which made the event even more fun for everyone watching!
We actually celebrated yesterday since we didn’t have school on the official day, but the spirit of Pi Day was very much alive at E2.
A big thank you to our students and staff for making this such a fun mix of math, creativity, teamwork, and laughter every year.
