Enrichment Clusters & Genius Hour

Fostering Passionate Exploration

Enrichment clusters are weekly designated time blocks where students with shared interests across grade levels come together to explore their passions through investigative learning. Genius Hour is a designated period during the school week where students are empowered to pursue self-directed projects based on their interests and passions, fostering creativity, curiosity, and personalized learning experiences. Both emphasize higher-order thinking skills and authentic problem-solving, promote creativity, communication, and application of skills to real-world challenges.

Enrichment Activities are designed to offer curricular accommodation

These activities within the Schoolwide Enrichment Model are categorized into three classifications.

Type I

Enrichment activities are broad exploratory experiences intended to captivate students' interest and encompass a diverse range of disciplines, topics, ideas, and concepts.

Type II

Enrichment focuses on acquiring skills relevant to a subject, offering instructional resources to aid students in problem-solving, documenting discoveries, and presenting their learning to an audience.

Type III

Enrichment encompasses individual or small group investigations into genuine real-world issues. For instance, a Type III enrichment activity might involve a student researching a real-world problem, developing an authentic product or service, and presenting it to a genuine audience. Additionally, Type III enrichment activities can manifest as enrichment clusters.
